On Tuesday 18 November students visited the European Commission, where they had the chance to talk with staff from different Directorate Generals (DG’s) on issues that are currently being discussed in the different European institutions. Mr. Christos Marazopoulos who works at the DG Communication gave us a presentation about the Juncker Commission and the new structure that was introduced in October. Ms. Melinda Boneva gave us insight into the position of the European Commission with regards to the Market Stability Reserve proposal that is beign disucssed in the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers. And finally, Ms. Miranda Dawkins updated us about the developments in the TTIP negotiations, the bilateral trade agreement that is being discussed with the United States. It was an engaging afternoon that gave students the opportunity to discuss topical issues with senior staff, and to ask them critical questions.
